For most of us the holiday celebrations are over, but here at Emporos, the celebrations continue into January each year. This week alone we said hello to Bob Antista our new COO, good-bye to a co-worker and all around great guy - Jesse Hargett who retired, and celebrated our 11th Corporate Birthday.
I'm rather new to Emporos, but the excitment is contagious around here. The new year always brings new possibilities. It's apparent Emporos has moved into a new phase. We redecorated a month ago - fresh paint and carpeting certainly brightened up the work environment. The addition of a COO puts us in a position to grow to meet the marketplace demand. In the coming year we look forward to continued growth with Emporos Delivery, Emporos AIR and our soon to be released MerchantSoft Mobile application framework.
We're also improving our network and look to implement some new productivity tools which will benefit our customers. One of these productivity tools is a WIKI - yes, like the Wikipedia you hear about in the news. Our WIKI will be chock-full of resources for our MerchantSoft product line. The WIKI will give you, our customers, quick access to documentation and instructions anytime you need it.
Lots to look forward to and celebrate.
To commemorate our 11th year in business, all Emporos employees enjoyed lunch together. These get togethers give us time to recognize the hard work of everyone who contributes to the success of the company. And of course - eat cake! (If you'd like to hear us sign Happy Birthday, watch the video on our Facebook page.)
Jesse - We'll miss you! Greg Ph
illips, President & CEO and Tammi Poplin, Director of Customer Care, recognized Jesse Hargett for his decade of service and dedication to the company. Jesse is now officially retired from Emporos.

Emporos has a lot of experienced employees serving our customers. At today's holiday luncheon, several were recognized for 10 years of service. Congrats to Randy Bailey, Jeanne Edwards, Patrice Fountain, Jesse Hargett, and Jim Sargent. In addition to a plaque for their offices, they also got a little 'green' to spend for Christmas.
Congrats to all who were inducted into the 'Decade' Club.

Emporos customers know the value of having FSA-Eligible Items flagged as "Qualified" automatically by their MerchantSoft POS... and now it looks like the long-awaited category of sunscreen may soon be added.
SIGIS' latest newsletter says:
"... we are reviewing product descriptions of sunscreen and sunblock products to determine which broad spectrum, SPF 15+ items can be added to the list."
"Note that we will add only those items that can be clearly identified as SPF 15 or higher and that provide protection against both ultraviolet B radiation (UVB) and ultraviolet A radiation (UVA). These products will not require an Rx for purchase with a health care debit card at SIGIS certified merchants."
All this, just in time for winter! :)

Credit Card Waiting Approval is another MerchantSoft tool to improve your retail customer's experience. This optional feature allows merchants to set up a pre-defined authorization limit for card transactions in the event internet approvals are not available. The pre-defined limit will put these transactions in a queue to be processed as soon as the web is available and the payment gateway may be contacted for an approval. Meanwhile, the retail customer doesn't have to wait for the web to come back up and is able to complete his or her purchase.

We are thrilled to share that Vanderbilt University Medical Center's successful implementation of MerchantSoft Point of Sale and Accounts Receivable in its outpatient pharmacies marks another milestone in Emporos' track record with university hospitals.

The End of Month process is crucial to ensuring customer Accounts Receivable balances are updated appropriately, and more importantly, stated correctly on the customer statement. Integral to the process are the Aged Trial Balance report, Finance Charges Report, and Miscellaneous Adjustments Report. We will discuss how to use these reports and POS View History to reconcile AR.
Buy Worksheets - September 21 @ 3pm ET
This topic will focus each of the various Buy Worksheet types and determine which one best fits your business needs.
MerchantSoft Buy Worksheets are powerful tools that assist the user with inventory replenishment. There are multiple types of Buy Worksheets to choose from and each one is tailored to leverage the store's sales history to suggest order quantities for a specific vendor. Each Buy Worksheet can be translated into a Purchase Order without any modifications, or the PO may be adjusted upon user review.
