March 15, 2016, Charlotte, North Carolina – Emporos Systems Corporation successfully implemented its MerchantSoft Point of Sale solution at four outpatient pharmacies at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
“We were honored to have been selected to implement MerchantSoft 9 by the team at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. It was refreshing to work alongside some of the best professionals in the industry on such a high-profile project,” said Frank Piet, President of Emporos. “Today, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is able to provide an enhanced patient experience through their outpatient pharmacies. We are proud to be a partner in that solution.”
The MerchantSoft solution addresses the unique needs of pharmacies by verifying prescriptions, providing state-of-the-art checkout, and maintaining compliancy with state and federal regulations. The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is now able to provide patients with ‘real time’ status of all prescriptions ready for pickup as well as those still in-process in the pharmacy. MerchantSoft POS has streamlined check-out by capturing electronic signatures and tracking prescription counseling. Additional benefits include reducing end of day reporting and automating transfer of accounts receivable transactions seamlessly into their EPIC pharmacy management system. Implementation of MerchantSoft Point of Sale marks the culmination of an 18-month project in conjunction with a hospital-wide conversion to the Epic pharmacy management system
